Breakfast at Tiffany’s Photo Shoot

Breakfast at Tiffanys Photo Shoot

Breakfast at Tiffany’s photo shoot…a classic look

It’s always a treat to be asked to create photographs that are a bit different and last year I was asked by Yana if I could help her to recreate the look of Holly Golightly, Audrey Hepburn’s character in the book and film ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s‘.

Yana had booked a studio portrait session to take place at our photo studio in Kendal, and before the shoot started we discussed in detail the type of images that were required. Yana had her hair styled for the photo shoot at Hers and Sirs salon, and then equipped with just a few simple props such as the tiara, necklace and cigarette holder to complete the look, we were ready to start.

Because this was a Breakfast at Tiffanys photo shoot, I wanted to create portrait images for Yana that were similar to the original stills from the 1961 movie, so there was quite a lot of research to be done and I have included a few images here to show you examples of what was achieved.

A black and white ‘high key’ image, similar to the originals

The black and white movie photographs featuring Audrey Hepburn often have a very bright ‘high key’ look to them and so I wanted to create images that were similar. I discussed poses with Yana and I varied the photography background to suit so that I could create a variety of different images. Just a few of those produced are shown here.

I had a great time creating a collection of Audrey Hepburn images for Yana
